This temple is known for its large reclining Buddha and its impressive chedi. It is located a few kilometers southeast of the city center and can be reached by tuk-tuk or bicycle.

Some temples outside Ayutthaya Island are within the protected area but do not have World Heritage status: Wat Yai Chai Mongkon, home to a large golden Buddha statue that is over 30 meters tall, Wat Phanan Choeng, well-known for its massive Buddha image, Wat Chaiwatthanaram, and Wat Phu Khao Thong.
