About Wat Preah Prom Rath

Located on Pokambor Ave, this temple blends modern architecture with a rich 500-year history. The lotus-themed design mirrors temples across the border, featuring Bayon-style heads at the front gate and a Buddha relief scene reminiscent of Angkorian murals. Legend has it that the temple was established around 1500 when a monk landed ashore on a piece of his sinking boat. The site includes a reclining Buddha in a swimming pool-like pit and weather-worn cannons of mysterious European origin.
