About Truoi Lake

Within a distance of 30 km from Hue City to the south in the direction of National Route 1A, it takes more 10 km to reach Truoi Lake. Being constructed in 1996, this tourist attraction was formerly the largest irrigation work in Thua Thien Hue Province with a storage capacity of 60 million m3, and an embankment height of 50m.  
 
Truoi Lake is surrounded by a contiguous ridge of mountains, and notably, Bach Ma Mountain in the distant background seems to open its hands and embrace the lake softly. When you go to Truoi Lake, it is impossible to skip and miss four must-see springs namely Hop Vai Spring, Vung Thong Spring, Ong Vien Spring, and Ba Trai Spring. Each spring has its own scenic beauty and is associated with different stories. All of these springs meet together the Truoi Lake.    

From National Route 1A, make a turn at the Da Dam T-intersection, and then pass through a small village road with green trees for approximately 15 minutes. Finally, you will reach Truoi Lake. 
By motorbike: It takes about 25 minutes to reach Truoi Lake. You can find motorbike rentals on Le Loi Street, and Nguyen Tri Phuong Street, which are opposite to Huong Giang Hotel, and Century Hotel. 
It takes about 30 km to drive a motorbike along the National Route 1A to the South, and then stop at Truoi Bridge. Turn right to a small village road, and keep going for 10 km, you will reach the foot of Truoi embankment.  

Activities include boat rowing, sightseeing trips and fishing experiences. 


Truoi Lake has been always a perfect summer getaway for the hot relief of local citizens and visitors. In Truoi Lake, there are numerous boat tours and sightseeing trips operated by local providers and visitors can enjoy beautiful and peaceful scenery here. Furthermore, it promisingly gives a great feeling for the visitors to catch blue fishes, or grey mullets with their bare hands, and then cook them. With the carry-on food of visitors, it will be an incomparable treat to sit under the cool shades of green trees and enjoy the meals prepared on their own along the springs.
