For many tourists, Hue is a city that can be best discovered by walking. If there is one thing they want to do in this ancient city, it is to take a stroll, and get lost along the winding streets, fantastically exploring every walk of life in Hue. At this very moment, if you are still wondering yourself which the most prominent pedestrian streets are highly rated, this is the post for you!
The walking system in the Southern Huong River has been upgraded better and is beautifully and cleverly designed in 2019.
The harmonious combination between the Nguyen Dinh Chieu Walking Street and the newly built wooden bridge has made a delightful destination appealing to both foreign travelers and Vietnamese nationals in the beginning of the year 2019.
With the great cooperation, and partnership with Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), the People's Committee of Hue City has successfully carried out the project of constructing the beam bridge of 400 meters in length extending from Nguyen Dinh Chieu Walking Street to Ly Tu Trong Park. The main material made of this bridge is iron-wood or also called Tali. To come to the final decision of choosing Tali as the major construction material to install this bridge, the Advisory Board of Koica and the People's Committee of Hue City have mutually conducted various analytic research, and hosted seminars, as well as conferences, collecting and collating different useful information and feedbacks from both public as well as the specialized experts, and professional practitioners. Ironwood has commonly been highly reputed and distinguished for its tensile and compressive hardness, and capacity to withstand an applied force.
This ironwood bridge functions as the pedestrian causeway colourfully decorated with flower displays, providing an enjoyable public Space. This ironwood bridge project, for many locals, is a further step contributing to the changing city appearance, and achieving the harmonious development between humanity and nature.
