Talking about Hue, people will think of heritage, temples and mausoleums, and of course the garden house - one of the famous destinations that anyone who has ever stepped into will never forget. Referring to Hue garden houses, people will think of An Hien Garden House because of the historical story that shapes its reputation, the owner of the house, and its related writings. It is not difficult to recognize the architectural characteristics of Hue garden houses. The wooden house is located in the middle, feng shui design with left - right, front - back fence. From the main gate of the garden, to enter the house, visitors seem to stray into the dreamy world, with gardens planted on both sides of the path. Built in the late 19th century, by owner Pham Dang Thap - a mandarin under the Nguyen Dynasty, in 1934, the An Hien garden house was purchased and used as a residence by a provincial governor named Nguyen Dinh Chi. When he passed away, his wife, Mrs. Dao Thi Xuan Yen, continued to live and work hard to "create" a garden typical of Hue. She was a historical figure of Hue. Although her hometown was in Binh Dinh, she went to Hue to study at Dong Khanh High School, then became the principal of this school in the 1950s of the last century. She was good at French, spoke English, and Chinese, and was a member of the National Assembly in the 1980s. Also according to the tour guide, in 1997 she died, the heirs were far away, so the garden house was degraded, and damaged, and many valuable artifacts were lost to the regret of many people. More than a year ago, relatives in the family decided to sell An Hien garden house to Silk Path Hotel Joint Stock company based in Hanoi. The interior artifacts inside the house have been rediscovered by the new owner. Including two valuable horizontal lacquered boards, marble supporting pillars, incense bowls, and daily life items made of copper, porcelain... are determined to repatriate, and return to the old place. Outside the garden, the roots of white apricot, camellia japonica, marian plum... which have been taken care of have grown up. In particular, the worship of the old owner is still kept intact by the new owner, creating the soul and old values for the house. Stepping out of the garden space, many visitors relax and sit under the trees as if they are finding a rare peace in the middle of a busy and modern life.
